7 Different Types of Banners and How to Use Them

Although we live in the digital age of LED displays, banners still tend to turn heads! Plus, they are not that expensive and require little maintenance, which makes them the perfect choice for startups or small businesses.

So, we have compiled a list of the most effective banner types that you can use to promote your business.

1. Pull-Up & Retractable Banners

Also known as roll-up banners, these pull-up banners are perfect for tradeshow events or indoor retail signage. They are usually around 6 feet tall with customizable width sizes. These are a cheaper alternative to pop-up banners and are easy to collapse and carry.

The retractable mechanism of these banners allows for immediate setup. The one downside to pull-up banners is that they cannot be built wider than 5 feet. So, these are perfect for small exhibitions and quite convenient since they are printable on both sides, but you cannot use them for larger displays.

2. Pop-Up Booths and Displays

These fabric banners do exactly what the name suggests; they pop up! These banners are often utilized to cover the entire back of an exhibition booth. These are perfect to use if you want your content to be displayed on a wide scale.

Due to their sturdier support and dimensional character, pop-up banners can stretch much wider than pull-up banners. However, installation is not as instantaneous as pull-up banners; it can take you a few minutes to set them up.

3. Step and Repeat Banners

Want to look into custom branding? Invest in step and repeat banners. They allow you to cover tasteless wallpapers and boring backdrops and market your business’s name and logo. The recurrence of your logo on the fabric of these banners makes for perfect subliminal messaging. It allows your logo to blend into the scenery and promote your business!

4. Suspended Banners & Hanging Banners

These are placed using rods and cables. Suspended banners provide maximum visibility and impact by being on display above the crowd. Although installation is a bit of a hassle, the payoff is worth the sweat. They also come in a variety of shapes and sizes!

5. Mesh Banners

Mesh banner stands have an advantage; they can be placed both outdoors and indoors. The weave of a mesh banner is quite permeable; it allows wind to pass through without lifting the banner up with it. The key benefit of such banners is that they can brave ruthless winds and rough weather when placed outside and efficiently promote your content.

6. Fabric Banners

Fabric banners are usually made of satin or polyester. They are perfect to use if you want striking full-colored graphics that will captivate people’s attention. They are washable and crease-resistant!

They are perfect for any individual or business looking for high quality banners that require little to no setup time. One catch pertaining to these banners is that their colorful graphics tend to lose color when placed outdoors, so we recommend using them indoors.

But you can easily use them for trade shows, grand openings, presentations, and the like.

7. Vinyl Banners

Vinyl banners are highly durable; they can be used indoors and outdoors and they are resistant to tear. However, these banners tend to be quite heavy, especially when compared to their cloth counterparts, and they can crease easily if stepped on or stored improperly.
