A Guide to Buying a Marquee

There are a whole host of pop-up gazebos and marquees available on the market. However, the type of gazebo or marquee you choose will depend on your own considerations – including whether you want a marquee for a single event or one that can last for more than a few events in the long-term.

So, here are a few questions that you need to ask yourself before you buy a gazebo for your business.

How Often Will I Use It?

The first thing you need to establish is the frequency of use for your gazebo. Will you use it once a week or every few weeks for a market stall or a couple of times every year for a trade show or business exhibition? This will determine whether you need a heavy duty, commercial grade marquee or one that is light and compact, making it easy to transport.

How Easy Is It to Erect the Pop-Up Marquee?

Some pop-up gazebos and marquees are fairly easy to set up – you simply have to push up their frame and bolts loaded via springs and lock it in position. You can easily set up such a gazebo on your own. Some marquees or gazebos, however, require a few lock pins to fasten them to the ground, and you might need a couple of extra hands to set up such marquees.

Does It Meet My Size Requirements?

Is your pop-up marquee or gazebo big enough to easily encapsulate everything you want to keep in it? If you want to set up a marquee or gazebo at a trade show, you will likely want to place a large booth in it that will be surrounded by a few strategically placed Standees or A-Frame signs that will help you market your business. The gazebo size you choose should be based on these considerations.

Tips for Buying a Marquee or Gazebo

Now, here are a few tips that will help you make the right choice when buying a marquee or gazebo for your business.

Frame Strength and Thickness of Metal

A solid tip is to look for a gazebo with a thick frame and durable, well-fastened struts since that will prevent the bars from snapping or bending under pressure. If you want your marquee to be extra durable, then invest in one that has uber-strong twin rib reinforced struts.

Metal Type

Many marquees and gazebos available today are made using steel. Such gazebos will likely rust badly when left out in rainy weather. Not only will they look highly unpleasant, but the rust will also weaken the frames, making your gazebo much more likely to collapse onto itself. A good idea is to invest in an aluminum marquee, which won’t corrode in rainy weather.

Canopy Material

Try to look for a high-quality marquee with waterproof canopy material. A cheap pop-up gazebo canopy is usually made of cheap material that will not protect you and your business material from unforeseen harsh weather elements.

Quality

A good idea is to invest in a good-quality gazebo. Don’t make the mistake of going for the cheap option such as a $100 marquee or gazebo since those will only last for a day at most under heavy rain and are much more likely to collapse.

We hope that this comprehensive guide helps you choose the right marquee or gazebo for your business!
